About the Department

Welcome to the Department of Electrical Engineering at Engineering College Bikaner. The Electrical Engineering Department is one of the oldest departments of the institute, which was established in the year 2002. At present the department offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Electrical Engineering. For undergraduate course, department offers intake of 60 and 30 seats each for both shifts (shift 1 and shift 2) rest. as per AICTE approval thus total intake of 90 students each year .The department has well equipped laboratories such as Electrical Machines laboratory, Power Systems Laboratory, Control Systems laboratory, Electrical Measurements laboratory, Power Electronics & Drives Laboratory, Electrical workshop & Computer laboratory. The department has undertaken a number of research projects/schemes with the financial assistance from AICTE, DST ,CPRI and RTU. The department is also actively engaged in research, consultancy and testing in the area of Power Systems.. Presently department is offering one postgraduate programmes of Master of Technology, with specialization in Power Systems Engineering. The department is regularly producing research publications in international and national journals and conferences of international repute. Students get rich industry interaction while working for the degrees and research. Several research scholars are pursuing Ph.D. degree in diversified fields of Electrical Engineering. Students passing out from this department get excellent placements through campus selection both in the core area industries and also in software companies of national level. Alumni of Electrical Engineering Department are very well placed in all sectors and have reached to the top echelons in the state/ central government organizations and the public sector undertakings including NAVRATNA companies.
